يسر جمعية ESLA أن تعلن أن الدكتور ماهر ستينو والدكتورة ليلى المصري قد قبلا ترشيح مجلس الإدارة للعضوية الفخرية (HM). وأنهم حريصون على تقديم الدعم الشامل للمجتمع اللاندسكيب في مصر.
حصل الدكتور ماهر ستينو والدكتورة ليلى المصري ستينو، المؤسسان المشاركان لشركة Sites International المرموقة، على درجة البكالوريوس في الهندسة المعمارية من جامعة القاهرة. وقد عززا تعليمهما من خلال الدراسات العليا في جامعة جورجيا وجامعة ميشيغان في آن أربور، ميشيغان بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية. كلاهما حصلا على درجة الدكتوراه في هندسة اللاندسكيب، وتخصصا في التخطيط البيئي والتصميم الحضري. حصل الدكتور ماهر على ترخيص مهندس اللاندسكيب في ولاية ميشيغان بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، في حين أن الدكتورة ليلى مرتبطة بالجمعية الأمريكية لمهندسي اللاندسكيب (ASLA). قادتهم مساعيهما الأكاديمية إلى أدوار متنوعة في مؤسسات مثل جامعة ميشيغان في آن أربور، وجامعة الملك سعود في الرياض، والجامعة الأمريكية في دبي، والجامعة الأمريكية في القاهرة، وكلية التخطيط العمراني والإقليمي بجامعة القاهرة. وفي هذه المؤسسات، خدموا في مناصب مختلفة، بما في ذلك أعضاء هيئة التدريس والرؤساء والعمداء. الدكتور ماهر معروف على نطاق واسع في مجتمع مهندسي اللاندسكيب في مصر باعتباره الأب الروحي لمهنة هندسة اللاندسكيب أو المعادل المصري لفريدريك لو أولمستيد الأمريكي.

ESLA is delighted to announce that Dr. Maher Stino and Dr. Laila El-Masry have accepted the board’s nomination for honorary membership (HM). They are eager to provide comprehensive support to the society.
Dr. Maher Stino and Dr. Laila El-Masry Stino, the co-founders of the esteemed firm Sites International, earned their bachelor’s degrees in architecture from Cairo University. They furthered their education with graduate studies at the University of Georgia and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. Both obtained Ph.D.’s in Landscape Architecture, specializing in Environmental Planning and Urban Design. Dr. Maher was licensed as a landscape architect in the State of Michigan, USA, while Dr. Laila is associated with the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). Their academic endeavors led them to diverse roles at institutions such as the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, King Saud University in Riyadh, American University in Dubai, American University in Cairo, and the College of Urban and Regional Planning at Cairo University. In these institutions, they served in various capacities, including faculty members, Chairs, and Deans. Dr. Maher is widely acknowledged within the landscape community in Egypt as the father of landscape architecture or the Egyptian equivalent of Frederick Law Olmsted.
Honorary members (HM) of ESLA receive lifetime complimentary membership to the society, granting them access to its full range of benefits, including online subscriptions. They are privileged to participate in lecture series, journals, conferences, and specialized group meetings at rates equivalent to those enjoyed by regular members. Additionally, honorary members possess the right to attend and exercise voting privileges at annual general meetings and society board elections, reflecting the engagement opportunities available to ordinary members.
