Graham has over 40 years of experience in landscape architecture consulting and teaching across South Africa and the continent. He is widely recognized for his award-winning work, notably on Freedom Park, which commemorates South Africa’s struggle for freedom. His accolades include ILASA’s Presidential and Lifetime Achievement Awards, as well as the UN LivCom Gold Medal for the Moroka Park Precinct in Soweto.

He has published extensively in both local and international design journals and books, recently contributing a chapter to the Routledge Handbook of Landscape Architecture Education. Graham has held visiting academic roles at institutions including the Universities of Witwatersrand, Cape Town, Jomo Kenyatta (Kenya), and the University of Rhode Island. He serves as managing editor of the African Journal of Landscape Architecture and is currently president of IFLA Africa and a former IFLA World vice president.
