The Egyptian Society of landscape Architects (ESLA) is inviting you to our 3rd ESLA Talk that is going to be by James MacGregor and taking place Saturday 10th of August 2024 via Zoom.

James MacGregor is President of EcoplanNet, a landscape and tourism planning firm, board member of AAPM – Association des Architectes Paysagistes du Maroc, and core member of MED_Net IFLA Europe group. A Canadian with landscape degree from Canda, coupled with three decades of global experience. Being based in Morocco and working extensively in the MENA region. He will talk to about the landscape architecture approach to climate change. The various types of Climate Change related events of the past decade have suggested multiple opportunities for landscape architects to “rise to the occasion” and provide efficient, effective and cost-efficient solutions to prevent or to restore the impacts climate related events. The purpose of the presentation therefore will be to Identify some of the issues associated with climate change and then present the various phases of preparing a climate change adaptation strategy. Furthermore, based on our given skills, it can be anticipated that a nature-based solutions approach will be proposed.

جيمس ماكجريجور هو رئيس أيكوبلان-نت، وهي شركة تخطيط اللاندسكيب والسياحة، وهو إيضاً عضو مجلس إداره جمعية مهندسين اللاندسكيب في المغرب وعضو فاعل في مجموعة MED_Net البحرمتوسطيه التابعه لإيفلا أوروبا.كندي المولد وحاصل على شهادة في هندسة اللاندسكيب من كندا له ثلاثة عقود من الخبرة العالمية. يعمل على نطاق واسع في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا. سيتحدث عن نهج هندسة اللاندسكيب في التعامل مع التغير المناخي. يؤمن جيمس أن الأحداث المتعلقة بتغير المناخ في العقد الماضي اظهرت فرصًا متعددة لمهندسي اللاندسكيب لم يسميه “للارتقاء إلى مستوى الحدث” وتقديم حلول فعالة ومنخفضة التكلفة لمنع أو استعادة تأثيرات الأحداث المتعلقة بالمناخ. وبالتالي فإن الغرض من هذه المحاضرة هو تحديد بعض القضايا المرتبطة بتغير المناخ ومن ثم تقديم المراحل المختلفة لإعداد استراتيجية التكيف مع تغير المناخ. علاوة على ذلك، واستنادًا إلى مهارات مهندسي اللاندسكيب المعطاة، فمن المتوقع منا أن نقوم باقتراح نهج للحلول وتنفيذها.
